Elissa Gabriella Photography.   A dreamy photographic journey.

Available in Astoria, Oregon!

Here you’ll find what inspires me to capture the world one moment at a time with my trusty Canons.  Photography isn’t a field I set out to do professionally, it’s an art that found me while I was busy working a career I desperately needed to escape from. What started out as hobby, has become yet another one of my many passions turned business.  To think it took ten years after college graduation for me to react to the what my heart had been saying all along.  Life’s too short to waste doing something that doesn’t fill you with happiness and feed your soul.  I may be a newbie in this arena, but it’s been said I’ve got talent and a good eye.  😉 I’m going to roll with it! I’d like to thank my first camera for that one, a pink Kodak that took sixteen photos…oh yes, the days before digital.

As a child, I always had a camera ready for wherever our family travels took us.  During my high school years, carrying a camera was like carrying a purse–never left home without it.  I can’t even begin to count the number of photo albums I amassed over the years.  Once I hit college, my interest in photography faded.  Looking back now I should have kept that fascination going instead of taking the career path I did.  Then again, maybe that’s part of the journey.

Even when my husband turned to photography as a hobby, the spark just wasn’t there.  Possibly, I didn’t want to take the time to learn the intricacies of an advanced digital camera.  Possibly I liked being his subject.

It wasn’t until I started blogging about the life I share with my traveling Chef husband, that I rediscovered my passion for photography.  It’s allowed me to capture the places we’ve been, the friendships we’ve made, the adventures we’ve experienced and the memories we continue to make along this journey in life.

What I like to take photos of:  mostly everything, but to be more specific–bees, flowers, sunsets, sunrises, architecture, animals, landscapes, and the occasional cute kiddo 😉
